In God’s eyes, our debt of sin was paid-in-full when Christ died on the cross. Therefore, we should also crucify our sinful desires each day and submit our lives under the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Galatians 2:20 — I have been crucified with Christ: and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is a result of my trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Colossians 2:13-14 — You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Christ, for he forgave all your sins, and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross.
