Today, it is so easy to get caught up in trying to make money and “get ahead,” that it can become the main motivating factor in our lives. What are you trying to gain in life?
1 Timothy 6:6-10 — Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, d]”>[d]and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Mark 8:36 — What profit will a person have if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?
3 John 2 — Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].
