Love is a two-way street. We need to feel loved, to receive approval, recognition, attention and affection. We also need to express those same things to others. When we strive for unity and extend compassion and care to each other, the love of God is released into our lives and relationships. When we choose to love, we feel connected and have the clarity that comes from a sound mind.
Timothy 1:7 — For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1 John 4:7-8 — Beloved, let us [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience]. The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.]
Matthew 18:18-20 — Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
