Hold fast. When upsetting experiences come into our personal lives and create an atmosphere of darkness and dread, we do not need to panic or lose heart. We can learn from the accounts of the Apostle Paul (also known as Saul of Tarshish). Even though he faced severe hardships, near-death situations, and fearful and foreboding prophecies about his future, he was determined to finish his life’s course with joy.
Acts 20:24 – However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Lamentations 3:22-23 — The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Psalm 112:7 – They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Isaiah 26:3 — You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
