Godly Fear

The fear of the Lord and the fear of the devil are two very different things.

The fear of the Lord is about showing God reverence and honor; while the fear of the devil brings dread, worry and panic. Those who fall into the fear that the devil brings are in for a rough ride. But, those who fear — or honor — God, will see His blessings abound.

Psalm 33:18-21 —But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.

Psalm 111:10 — The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Proverbs 1:7 — The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but foolsc]”>[c] despise wisdom and instruction.

John 10:10 — The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
