Betrayal happens. Mistakes get made. People get hurt. Without releasing the pain, betrayal turns to bitterness — and bitterness is an inside enemy. Refuse to replay the matter in your mind. Put it in the hand of God. Ask Spirit to help you move toward forgiveness.
Proverbs 18:19 — An offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with bars.
Luke 6:37 — Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Ephesians 4:31 — Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice.
Romans 5:5 — And hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Mark 12:30-31 — Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second command is this: Love your neighbor as you love yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.
James 5:16 — Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
