Be on guard for discouragement. Discouragement is sometimes a weapon that the devil forms against you. Its not always something that originates within you. No. It can be the work of an adversary pumping negative thoughts into your mind — and you can rebuke him. The more self-conscious he can cause you to become, the less spirit-conscious you will be. His goal is to render you ineffective. So, be on guard. Lift your eyes off of yourself and see if you can discern what is really going on in the spirit.
Hebrews 5:13-14 — Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
James 4:7 — Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 5:8 — Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
